East Mountain Schools
The East Mountain Schools are some of the best in the Albuquerque Public Schools District. In 2008, San Antonito Elementary, received the highest standards base test scores for 4th Grade Math in the entire state of New Mexico. This achievement garnered them the opportunity to visit the capitol where they received recognition from the New Mexico Legislature before accepting their award at an assembly in the rotunda of the Capitol Building . High school students attend Manzano, which is located in Albuquerque. Manzano High School offers an extensive variety of extra-curricular activites including band, athletics, swimming, and choir as well as providing students with the opportunity to pursue science, math and technology programs. East Mountain High School, an area charter school is also an option for those looking for smaller class sizes and a more community-based high school environment. EMHS student Terra Nova test scores for each year have exceeded the district and national averages in every category.
